Kevin Dawson: Yeovil Town must make most of midweek results at Stevenage

After a week where Yeovil Town's top six position was consolidated without kicking a ball, now is the time to strengthen it further according to midfielder Kevin Dawson. The Glovers travel to Stevenage on Saturday whilst third in npower League One and requiring just a handful of points to seal a play-off spot. However, they could have been forgiven for expecting to slip more than just the single place they did thanks to Brentford's 2-0 defeat of Crewe. League leaders Doncaster Rovers, Sheffield United and Swindon Town all succumbed to identical score lines to Carlisle United, Crawley Town and MK Dons respectively on Tuesday. Dawson, who left his native Ireland for Yeovil in January, said the Huish Park outfit must now build on the misfortune of their rivals when they visit Stevenage on Saturday. "The games are absolutely massive now, particularly Stevenage on Saturday," he said. "Especially with the way the results went in the week we have got to keep going and get three points. "I was refreshing the live scores on my phone every two seconds on Tuesday. We couldn't do anything but it was nice the results went our way so now it's time to do what we can do on Saturday." Former Shelbourne man Dawson – brother of Barnsley's Stephen – has been almost ever-present since his switch at the start of the year, making 17 appearances and scoring once. The weekend visit to Broadhall Way will be the 22-year-old's first to Yeovil's former non-League foes and he is expecting a tough clash after Boro won the two team's first meeting of the season. He said: "All the boys are saying it's a really tough place to go, especially in the last few years. We will do our homework on them as we always do and take it as it comes. "You don't like getting beaten on your home patch but with it being the end of the season and naturally where we are it overtakes what they did earlier in the season against us. It's a massive game."
