MATCH REPORT: Welton Rovers 0 Corsham Town 1 Welton Rovers' three-match winning run came to a halt in an incident-packed game at West Clewes last night. The match was held up for 55 minutes when Corsham midfielder Jamie Moss suffered a dislocated knee and had to be taken by ambulance to hospital. He is in good spirits, though, and tweeted: "Dislocated knee, popped out and in straight away. I've gotta go back Thursday about my ligaments." The injury occured in the 35th minute, with Welton having been the dominant force up until that point. A great through ball from James Taylor bisected the Corsham defence and striker Paul Banks was just inches away from making contact. This was followed by a penetrating run down the left by home captain Jack Metcalf, who delivered a great cross that was struck goalwards by Ashley Victor Lewis but deflected behind for a corner. A good effort from James Cooper was only inches over the bar, while another fine strike from Victor Lewis was well saved by Corsham keeper Anthony Brown. The visitors' first real effort of the game saw a cross-shot from Ryan Tyrell strike the top of the Welton bar. They got more into the game after that and Dan Lardner really should have scored when he headed over with an open goal at his mercy. A snap-shot from striker Liam Brown was also pushed onto the bar by Welton keeper Andy King before the match was held up as Moss received on-pitch treatment from paramedics after suffering his injury. Despite this, Corsham continued to have the upper hand and they took the lead two minutes into the second half with a stunning goal. A great through-ball split the Welton defence and found Jamal Chevelloy, who raced through before firing in a cracking shot that gave King no chance. This seemed to knock the stuffing out of Welton and it looked more likely that Corsham would increase their lead rather than the home side equalise. As the half progressed, tempers flared and referee Rowe did well to keep the game from boiling over. Welton did get the ball into the net but Victor Lewis's effort was ruled out for offside. Despite ringing the changes and using all three substitutes, Welton could not find the elusive equaliser much to the disappointment of the Green Army.
