A CHILCOMPTON site manager has received the highest accolade for his industry. Jason Ricards, 38, from Chilcompton, is the site manager for Taylor Wimpey. He said: "I have been in the building trade since I was 16 years old where I started as a carpenter and worked my way up to become a site manager which is how I have won the NHBC Pride in the Job award, which I am over the moon to have received. "I have won this award at the Glastonbury, Dunstan Park site. I am now currently working at The Meadows, Keynsham site." Pride in the Job is the only UK-wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building. It has been instrumental in driving up the quality of new homes for 32 years. A Pride in the Job award is the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive. Most importantly, homeowners who buy a Pride in the Job award-winning home benefit from a high quality product. Pride in the Job awards are won by individual site managers. Site managers are automatically entered into the competition if they are working on a site registered for NHBC warranty. The competition is completely free and there are no entry forms to complete. Shortlisted from over 13,000 site managers across the UK, the Pride in the Job 2013 Quality Award and Single Home Commendation winners have excelled in 12 months of rigorous judging Quality Awards, usually announced in June, are presented to the best 430 site managers in the Small, Medium, Large and Multi-Storey builder categories.
