Somerset Cricket clubs are urged to be vigilant following thefts from a number of changing rooms across the county.
Police have issued the warning after Glastonbury Cricket Club became the latest to be hit by an opportunist thief.
The Somerset Cricket Board has posted the warning from Detective Constable Andy Bath on its website
DC Bath, from Taunton CID said: "A male who had been at the cricket pitch for 15 or 20 minutes talking to spectators watching the match was then seen coming out of the cricket club changing rooms even though the away team from were all sat nearby.
"He was wearing a white top, so did not initially seem suspicious. The male was seen to leave and get into a car in the car park. He even spoke to someone on his way out.
"One person was suspicious so check the changing rooms to find multiple wallets, an IPhone and cash were taken from various victims. The IPhone had the find my phone app, but by the time this was used, the phones battery or SIM card had been removed."
The car the man left in was described as a Silver SLK/CLK sporty silver Mercedes. It had a black front driver's side Wheel compared to the silver/alloy coloured others, which stood out. It was a hard top not a convertible.
The man is described as between 35 and 45 years old, white, 5'9 - 5'11 tall, thin, rat like facial features, very short cropped (almost shaved) and possibly receding hair, wearing a white Liverpool (away kit) shirt with another zippable layer on the top, possibly darker in colour.
