The death of a six-year-old Somerset girl from leukaemia has inspired a fellow churchgoer to raise money for a children's hospice.
When aspiring priest Lee Brown, 29, heard that youngster Laura Clarke had passed away he decided to raise funds for the hospice that supported Laura and her family.
Mr Brown heard about the Clarkes through Saint Bartholomew's Church, in Crewkerne, Somerset, which both he and the family attend.
The keen runner has raised £600 so far through sponsorship for several marathons and the money will be donated to charity Children's Hospice South West.
Laura Kirstin Clarke died on Easter Sunday this year after courageously fighting a rare form of facial cancer found in only 70 children in the UK each year.
Mr Brown intends to present a cheque to the hospice for the total he raises at the end of the summer.
