Pilton's Lee Frapple won the UKBFF South Coast Bodybuilding Championships in front of a 2,500-strong crowd in Portsmouth.
Frapple held off the challenge of 127 competitors, including the current Mr Universe, to add the South Coast crown to his two South West titles.
"It was a very exciting day for me and I'm very happy with the result," said Frapple.
"Winning this show has given me lots of exposure and I've been overwhelmed with all the positive comments and reactions I've got since the show.
"The preparation was intense, I was hungry every day and night. I almost missed the competition, as I was backstage, unaware my class was already on stage.
"It was tight between the top two as the other guy had won the show the year before and won the South West title the year before I won it. It was like a fight to see who was the undisputed champion, and I took that title."
