MATCH REPORT: Street 0 Hallen 3 Street missed out on a place in the Toolstation League's Les Phillips Cup final when they were handed a heavy defeat by visiting Hallen. The Cobblers' recent busy schedule caught up with them as too many players failed to turn up as they took to the field for a fourth game in eight days. The home side looked tired from the outset at the Tannery Ground and they lacked any real sharpness up front. Home defender Tom Clifford-Jones should have got a header on target from a corner and Steve Murray was denied by a brilliant close-range save by Sam Burgess. Matt Hurley then poked an effort wide and Murray headed an effort over the crossbar but Street were visibly struggling the longer the half progressed. Hallen capitalised and took the lead three minutes before the break when the home defence were caught flat-footed and Aysa Corrick fired into the net. Street's Craig Mawford had a shot brilliantly turned aside by Burgess at the start of the second half but Corrick soon made the hosts pay when he doubled Hallen's lead. The Cobblers then suffered a double blow when goalkeeper Ryan Lewis was forced out of the game with concussion soon afterwards, meaning Clifford-Jones had to take over between the sticks. Although the stand-in stopper was rarely troubled he had no chance with Hallen's third goal as substitute Simon Knight found the net five minutes from time to book his side's place in the final against Larkhall Athletic.
