Investigations are still on-going after a house fire in Chilcompton which has badly damaged the roof of the property.
Fire crews remain at the scene after rushing to the property on Coalpit Lane at around 1.25am this morning.
All occupants were safely evacuated from the house where the blaze has caused 240 square feet of fire and smoke damage to the roof and second floor and smoke and water damage to the first and ground floor.
Initially, two fire appliances from Shepton Mallet, one from Radstock and one from Paulton were mobilised. Crews got to work with two sets of breathing apparatus and used two main jets to tackle the fire. Two water carriers one from Yeovil and one from Bridgwater were requested for extra water.
At 2.43am two additional fire appliances from Wells were mobilised to assist, along with an incident support unit from Street.
Crews were fire fighting on the first floor and in the roof space using six sets of breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets and three main jets. Two covering jets are being used on the exterior of the property.
The roof of the house has been stripped back by fire fighters. The cause is under investigation.
