Wells MP Tessa Munt and Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Vince Cable, opened the League of Friends sensory garden at West Mendip Community Hospital this afternoon.
The League of Friends raised £11,000 to pay for the facility which will enable patients to walk in the fresh air as part of their physiotherapy.
Tessa was also made aware that the FirstGroup bus stop has been removed from hospital grounds and visitors and patients must now cross and walk to a stop some way away.
Tessa said she would look into the matter.
The party then moved on to the Red Brick Building where Mr Cable was to hold a question and answer session with local businesses.
You can catch them tomorrow at Wedmore Free Cycle Day, Wedmore Village Car Park, Wedmore between 10 - 11am.
