Police investigating an attempted robbery at a store in North Somerset have released a CCTV image of a person leaving the scene.
Officers hope someone will recognise the culprit, or have information to help their investigation, following the incident at the Co-op store in Pill at around 5.50am on Sunday morning.
Police say the suspect was wearing a balaclava and had a rucksack on his back.
"He threatened a member of staff and demanded cash, but the shop assistant advised he did not have keys to the safe," said police in a statement.
"He then asked for scratch cards but was told they were kept in the safe."
The suspect then left the Upper Myrtle Hill store and ran off in the direction of Lodway Pill.
Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, or who may have information that can help with the investigation.
Call Weston-super-Mare CID on 101.
