Taunton Titans' back row forward Dean Taylor-Menzies scored a try on his final home appearance for the Somerset club in their 25-23 National Two South win over Lydney.
The New Zealand-born player was Taunton's Player of the Year last season and joined Taunton in the summer of 2011 after two seasons with Clifton, having also appeared for Bristol.
Titans' marketing manager Colin Bentley said: "He says he is not ruling out a return to Taunton but is going to join family in Australia for a time and see what transpires."
Lydney led 10-0 with a try by Duncan Bell, which was converted by Tony Wickes who also kicked a penalty.
Taylor-Menzies reduced Lydney's lead with his try, converted by Brett Turner who levelled the scores before half time with a penalty.
Lydney got back into the driving seat to lead 23-17 with a try by skipper Matt Taylor who also kicked two penalties and a conversion, but Titans hit back to win the game with tries by player-coach TonyYapp and substitute Conor McKenzie with Turner landing two conversions and a penalty.
Victory enabled Taunton to go ninth in the table, while Lydney are one place off the bottom, having won only one of their eight matches.
