Two Downside School pupils have been selected to play rugby for Somerset.
Will Harwood and Vladimir Guize, both in Year 9, have already begun county training, with Harwood also selected for the Bath Elite Performance Squad having previously represented England Prep Schools.
Fellow Year 9 pupils Will Brand-Lyons and Felix Rusby have also been playing for the Mendip Lions, one part of a six-region development team for Somerset, from which county players are selected.
Meanwhile, hockey players Edward McCabe (Year 9) and Tasie Morgan (Year 10) have been called up for the Somerset Development Squad, from which future county players will be selected.
Downside hopes to beat last year's tally of 20 pupils representing the school at district and county level in hockey alone this academic year.
