Supermarine 1st XV 0 Frome 1st XV 32
Frome returned to winning ways with a comfortable victory at Southern Coutnies South basement boys Supermarine.
Although Frome dominated possession in the first half, they were only able to score one try as several chances were wasted.
The breakthrough was made after a lineout in the hosts half saw Sheppard feed Walker and the ball was spun wide. Rutt and Winduss pulled the defence apart with their lines of running before Norris sent winger Saul Ames-Reddin to sprint clear for the score.
Frome added to the score at the start of the second half when, after several phases, they found themselves on the hosts' 22 and flanker Sheppard burst through several tackles. He was held up just short but slipped the ball to Cook for the try.
A third try followed soon afterwards when hooker Sam Ames-Reddin found Castle at a five-metre lineout and the pack drover over the line, with skipper Phil Meenan coming up with the ball.
With Frome finding their rhythm, the bonus point was sealed when Winduss' gliding run drew the last defender and he fed winger Ames-Reddin to score in the corner, with McQueen adding the conversion.
Meenan got his second try when the pack drove over from a five-metre scrum but the final score of the game was the best as a sweeping move starting in Frome's half saw play switched from one wing to the other and back again before Cook released Warnock for the try.
On Saturday, Frome travel to Trowbridge.
Puddletown 10 Frome 2nd XV 22
A strong second-half showing helped Frome 2nd XV to victory after a tough fixture at Puddletown.
Frome started confidently, with the forwards making ground, Frost and Westlake playing well up the middle and Trimby and Luscombe offering speed and power on the wings.
However, the home defence thwarted Frome's defence and then put the visitors on the back foot through good kicking. Benstead, Ives, Culff and Milton made some big tackles but could not prevent Puddletown's number eight from crossing for the first try.
The hosts kept up the pressure and, despite Frome winning several scrums against the head, Puddletown scored in the corner to make it 10-0.
Frome went on the attack in the dying seconds of the first half and, after good work from King and Boulton, Luscombe ran in from deep and Frost converted to reduce the gap to three points.
After a couple of half-time changes, Frome started the second period confidently and put the hosts under pressure as the backs showed some flair.
Rumming joined the line from full-back and Luscombe made more strong runs, earning a penalty which allowed Frost to bring the scores level.
Frome then got their second try following a lineout on the 22, with Regler setting up King to score in the corner after powering past the home winger.
Culff and Horne made good ground in loose play as Frome began to take control, with the support of James, Pearn and Mason allowing Luscombe to run in his second try.
Puddletown launched a final last-gasp assault on the Frome line but were repelled by a sturdy defence.
On Saturday, Frome host Weymouth 2nd XV.
Frome 3rd XV 66 Salisbury 3rd XV 5
Frome 3rd XV treated the Gypsy Lane crowd to ruthless display of rugby as they put their Salisbury counterparts to the sword.
Prop Will Witt shoved his way through and then around would-be tacklers to get the first try of the day and he, alongside Baker and Blaney, with assistance from second rows Pearce and Brake, put in an impressive display against a big Salisbury front five.
Frome were soon on the offensive again as Andy Greenwood burrowed over to score and he was instrumental in the next try as his pass sent O'Shea through the gap after the forwards had provided a strong platform.
The bonus point arrived when sustained pressure from Hills, Burton and Brake allowed O'Shea to release centre Gilson, whose show-and-go and pace took him to the line.
Salisbury gathered a kick ahead to score their only try of the day but Frome stepped up a gear and were quick to respond as Harry Hall was released at pace, evading a couple of tackles before diving over the line.
After the break, Greenwood continued Frome's scoring frenzy and, although Salisbury tried to play some rugby, they were snuffed out by the home front row.
Brian Baker charged over for the next try, while Pearce and Greenwood combined to set up Burton to charge his way to the line and add his name to the scoresheet.
Henry Cheal capped a strong first performance at centre with a well-taken score and returning wing Dave Randall took the direct route past his opposite number to get his first try for the thirds.
Aaron Blaney completed the scoring, crashing over after a move that began with a Spencer break.
Frome 3rd XV travel to Wincanton on Saturday.
