Ten things to do in Somerset this weekend - November 23-25

It is time to look forward to another bumper weekend of things to do in Somerset. If you're wondering what's on in the county, look no further - from live music and sport to days out and fine dining, our weekly guide is here to give you ten top suggestions...1) Acoustic Plus... Frome's Cheese and Grain welcomes back Acoustic Plus for another evening of live music on Friday night. Among the performers are Gren Bartley, Molly Ross and Griff Daniels are among the musicians lined up to perform. Doors open at 8pm.2) Castle Green spectacular... Taunton's Castle Green hosts a full day of festive fun on Saturday. The Museum of Somerset has free craft activities from 11am to 1pm, and 2pm to 3.30pm. The South West Ukulele Union will be in the Castle Green Inn from 2.30pm, and there will also be a spectacular light and fire juggling show from 5pm to 6.30pm.3) Yeovil Town v Carlisle United... Yeovil Town are back at Huish Park on Saturday against Carlisle United (3pm). The Glovers will be looking to close in on the play-off places with a win.4) Best Farmers' Market... Montacute House hosts a Best Farmers' Market featuring game, pies and ale, top local seasonal produce and hand-made crafts. It will be held in the Old Stable Courtyard on Saturday from 10am to 2pm.5) Stars From the Commitments... Weston-super-Mare Grand Pier welcomes Stars From the Commitments and their famous brand of soul music on Saturday evening. Doors open at 8pm, and tickets cost £15.6) Martock Christmas lights... The first ever Martock Christmas lights switch-on takes place on Saturday. There is a full programme of events planned, and the lights will be turned on at 5pm.7) Ballroom and Latin-American dancing... The West of England Open Championships for Ballroom and Latin-American Dancing takes place in Weston-super-Mare's Winter Gardens on Sunday. Admission for spectators costs £8.50 for adults and £7.50 for senior citizens. Doors open at 9.45am. Junior competitions start at 10.15am and adult competitions start at 1.30pm.8) Three Bonzos and a Piano... The David Hall at South Petherton welcomes Three Bonzos and a Piano for a concert on Sunday evening.
