FULL-TIME policeman Tom Miller has received a medal for many years of giving his spare hours to work with Wells Air Cadets.
Wing Commander Brian Wills-Pope presented Tom with the Cadet Forces Medal, which is awarded after 12 years' continuous service.
Tom joined the 1955 (City of Wells) squadron when he turned 13, and has been with the unit his entire cadet career.
His roles within the organisation included several years as a gliding instructor with 621 Volunteer Gliding School based at Hullavington.
Tom said: "It is great to be awarded the medal, as it's a visible sign of my many enjoyable years spent at cadets, and especially here at Wells."
