Emergency services raced to rescue one of their most unusual casualties when a three-foot-long porpoise got stranded on a Somerset beach.
The animal was found by holidaymakers just below Brean Down yesterday.
They managed to pull the creature into a rock pool and cover it with seaweed and then called for help.
Volunteers from Burnham Area Rescue Boat joined experts from Secret World wildlife rescue charity and manoeuvred the mammal and stretchered it off the beach and into a van for transport to Secret World's base.
