CHILDREN in Key Stage One at Stoberry Park School have been enjoying experiencing life outdoors as part of their real-life learning experiences.

The pupils and their families were invited to spend the night under canvas and live like circus performers as part of their project, all based around the circus.

They were treated to a show from performers of Wookey Hole Circus School and had the opportunity to learn some of their own circus skills by working with the experts.

Mendip Slides provided hours of circus-themed bouncing fun and Wells Scouts treated children to toasted marshmallows and a sing-a-long.

The event was summed up by a quote from one of the younger children who said: "It has been the best day of my life, mum!"

Ali Hawkins, KS1 phase leader, said: "Unique and long lasting memories were created during this school and community event for children and their families, building experiences for a future generation."

Stoberry Park School would like to thank Wookey Hole Circus, Mendip Slides, Wells Scouts, Budgens, Tesco and Brian's Ices and Snacks who without their invaluable involvement the evening wouldn't have been such a success.
