GLOVERS' boss Gary Johnson hopes his team's fans will all be singing from the same song sheet at Wembley on Sunday after recording a potential hit with a Yeovil comedian.
The Huish Park board room was converted into a makeshift recording studio on Tuesday as Johnson and his squad joined Jimmy Quinn to lay down their version of Here We Go.
With Quinn – a regular compere at Yeovil Town functions – adapting verses to fit the team's stars ahead of the npower League One play-off final, players joined in on the chorus whilst local broadcaster Steve Carpenter oversaw levels.
Johnson said the song was an attempt to involve fans in the preparations for the weekend as the Glovers look to climb to the Championship for the first time.
However, he reserved judgement as to whether the record could beat Yeovil's last chart hit when Yeovil True reached number 36 ahead of 2004's FA Cup clash with Liverpool.
The manager said: "Our resident and Yeovil's resident comedian Jimmy Quinn put some words together and it was a good little tune with some good words.
"All we had to do was join in with the chorus. We're always happy to help an old man get back to the West End but I don't think it will be like Yeovil True getting to number 36 in the charts almost ten years ago, which was fantastic.
"I always remember Britney Spears being number 37 and thinking we had really making it. She went downhill from there and we kept going up. If this one gets out and gets some airplay the supporters can hopefully join in with the chorus."
