North Somerset Council is trying a new method for repairing potholes to try to save at least £150,000 a year.
The "velocity patching" method needs only one specialist vehicle to clean a pothole, apply a layer of bitumen and fill it with aggregate.
Normally pothole repairs mean removing a patch of road. This increases costs due to the disposal of this waste.
A trial was carried out in Wick St Lawrence and will now be rolled out across the district, the council said. The vehicle will carry enough material to cover 200 sq m of repairs.
