After its plans to build four wind turbines near West Huntspill in Somerset were rejected by Sedgemoor District Council, Ecotricity has appealed to the Planning Inspectorate to reverse the decision.
The application – originally submitted in December of 2010 – was turned down on landscape and biodiversity grounds.
If the appeal is successful, Ecotricity will allocate £9,200 every year to a fund for which local people can apply for a share.
