An evening of Somerset storytelling is being held at Midsomer Norton Library on Tuesday 30 April (7-8pm), as part of Bath & North East Somerset Council's "After Hours" campaign to promote the wider use of libraries.

Having themselves been enthralled by good stories since childhood, storytellers Martin Horler and Colin Emmet will be spellbinding visitors to the library with tales of magic, intrigue, mystery and love.

Some of their stories are so old that their origins have been lost in the mists of time while others are just as captivating but are tales that have emerged more recently. Listeners will be charmed and taken on a rollercoaster of emotions from humour to tragedy while some of the stories are more contemplative to set everyone thinking.

Councillor David Dixon (Lib-Dem, Oldfield), Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: "Our 'After Hours' events give people the chance to get even more benefit from Bath & North East Somerset Council's libraries outside of their normal opening times.

"The 'After Hours' initiative is principally aimed towards adults but some older children with a later bedtime might want to tag along with their parents to this particular fun-filled evening!"

The "Somerset Storytelling" event is free but spaces are limited so tickets must be booked by calling Council Connect on 01225 394041or popping into Midsomer Norton Library on the High Street, next to the Holly Court Arcade.
