An anonymous tip-off to the police as a woman drove away from Street Football Club resulted in her being caught drink driving. Linda Martine Caddey was stopped driving her car at Bove Town in Glastonbury and when she was asked to take a roadside breath test gave a positive result. The 50-year-old, of Breynton Road, Glastonbury, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol on March 23 when she appeared before Somerset Magistrates sitting at Yeovil. She was disqualified from driving for 17 months and fined £110 with £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge. Prosecutor Emma Chetland said that just after 7pm the police received a report that a possible drink driver had just left Street Football Club heading towards Glastonbury. "The vehicle was seen on the High Street and stopped in Bove Town with the defendant being the only occupant," she said. "A roadside breath test was requested which she failed and she was then arrested and taken to Wells police station." A further breath test was conducted which produced a reading of 62mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg of alcohol. Caddey told the court that she had been drinking the night before the incident and had taken a taxi home. "I then went out to meet a friend and had a few more drinks which was just stupid," she said.
