A dog was pulled from a muddy ditch by a specialist water rescue team near Huish Episcopi this morning.
Fire crews from Martock and Bridgwater were called to a ditch off the A372 at Pibsbury shortly before 11am.
The dog's hind legs were stuck in the mud, and crews used rescue lines and a ladder to reach the animal and return it uninjured to its owner.
