A new motocross event is to roar into Weston-super-Mare this summer.
The second round of the Red Bull Pro National Series is being staged in the resort on May 18 and 19 with bikers from across Europe pitting their wits on a specially sculpted beach track.
The event is being pioneered by promoter e22sports which plans to bring professional riders including twice world champion Steve Ramon from Belgium, British favourite Tom Church and defending champion Nico Aubin from France to the resort.
They will compete on a track in an area south of the Grand Pier which is expected to take a week to build.
E22sports managing director, Matt Bates, said: "Weston-super-Mare is an ideal venue for what will be a unique event. Weston has a big population, lots of visitors and is a prime site in the region that's very strong for motocross."
The Red Bull Pro Nationals is a seven-round series that tours the country and features racing over two days. The weekend will feature motocross experiences, electric bikes and balance bikes to introducing newcomers of all ages to riding.
The event will see freestyle motocross shows, trials displays, world class aerial acrobatics from the Red Bull Matadors and children's favourites Peppa Pig and George, Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam in the Kids zone area as well as a bouncy castle and numerous attractions.
Admission will be £10 for adults and £5 for children and OAPs and a family ticket will be £20.
