A newly-opened pet shop is wondering whether drug abusers were behind a raid on its premises.
Pets Corner was targeted by thieves who gained access to a veterinary medicine cabinet at around midnight last night.
The shop, which opened less than a month ago in Westfield, is now counting the cost of the robbery.
Shop manager Matthew Hucker said: "They kicked the front door in to gain access and once in, ripped the tills out and a small safe where we keep veterinary drugs. Until we have the chance to do a stock take we are still unsure what has been taken. I doesn't seem right that someone has broken in when we are trying our best to set up a business in a recession and pride ourselves on stocking all British products to help try to boost the national economy."
The thieves escaped after police arrived. Anyone with information is asked to contact Avon and Somerset Police on 101.
