Burnham-on-Sea's only seafront hotel has new owners. The Royal Clarence Hotel was sold through sector specialists Colliers International off an asking price of £380,000. Built in the late eighteenth century, the 17-bedroom property was the first hotel to be constructed in the popular Somerset seaside town and is just 100 metres from the  town centre. Colliers International said traditional holiday trade plus huge potential to accommodate workers and contractors involved in the proposed Hinkley Point nuclear power station have turned the Royal Clarence Hotel into a potential money-spinner. Hotels director Simon Wells said:  "We had a very good response from the market and the purchaser has a long term vision for the property. "There is certainly an appetite for businesses at the moment. I would even go far as to say that the viewing levels generally are the best we have seen since the peak of the market six years ago."
