Two lanes of the M5 motorway were closed between Wellington and Taunton this morning following a crash.
The crash happened on the northbound carriageway between junction 26 (the A38 for Wellington) and junction 25 (the A358 for Taunton) at around 11am.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and the two lanes were closed for around 90 minutes.
Fire crews from Wellington and Taunton received reports that a casualty was trapped inside a car after it had collided with the central reservation.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman confirmed that, when crews arrived, the occupants were free from the vehicle and were being treated at the scene by ambulance staff.
Firefighters made the vehicle safe, and the carriageway was fully reopened at around 12.30pm.
