Being unable to cross the line into the play-off places will not bother Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson just yet as long as his team keep winning.
The Glovers entertain Scunthorpe United on Saturday with only goal difference keeping them out of npower League One's top six.
Seven straight victories – including last night's 3-1 triumph over Preston North End - has taken Johnson's men to within three points of the automatic promotion spots, but has not been enough to earn better than seventh position.
However, Johnson conceded such a lofty league ranking does not currently bother him providing the team keep up the pressure on their rivals.
"As long as we win then I don't mind what happens," he said. "I don't mind with ten games to go if we are in the top seven for six places, I feel we can really be in there.
"At the moment we are keeping in there with everyone else. Someone is going to slip up eventually and we have got to make sure it's not us.
"But we are also putting a bit of a gap between the likes of MK Dons, Crawley, Walsall and Coventry City, and we are keeping up with others that were a long way ahead of us at certain parts of the season.
"Let's be careful. It's nice that we are near it but we will step into it just when we need to."
Johnson also hailed the impact of substitutes Nathan Ralph and Lewis Young, who returned from injury to change the game on Tuesday night.
The Glovers trailed 1-0 when they came on shortly after the hour mark, but strikes from James Hayter, Ralph himself and Paddy Madden saw the points stay in Somerset.
He said: "I have got to say Nathan and Lewis have spent months in a gym, working so hard with two bad injuries so it was fantastic to see them back.
"Ralphy deserved the goal for the hard work he has put in. He is only a young lad, he's kept his head up and the boys have helped him keep his head up.
"Stand up and take a bow those two, they have worked very hard over the past few months."
