Police are appealing for information following a break-in at the home of an elderly couple in Clutton in which raiders netted a substantial amount of money and jewellery.
A safe was stolen in the raid and was later found found discarded on the B3130 road between Stanton Drew and Chew Magna.
The burglarly took place in the early evening of Saturday January 12 and detectives want to hear from anyone in the Midsomer Norton and Radstock area who might have suddenly come into a large quantity of cash.
They also want to hear from pawn brokers and cash convertor shops that might be suspsicious about anyone trying to sell them jewellery in the last few weeks.
