The A303 was closed in both directions following two separate crashes in the early hours of this morning.
The road was closed between the Southfields Roundabout at Ilminster and the junction with the A30 in Upottery, Devon, due to a serious accident at around 5am.
Another crash, involving two vehicles, has closed the A303 in both directions between Newcott and Horton in East Devon.
The Somerset stretch of the road reopened at around 6.15am.
